Lovely restaurant with a rustic exterior and cottage vibes. We had the country-fried chicken and spaetzle, the whole beast and the braised short rib. All we're delicious and would recommend. The portion sizes are small to medium sized. We ended the night with the chocolate silk pie and the buttermilk lemon pie both which were delicious and not too sweet.

I visited this place once with my partner back in winter of 2024, and returned today for a Mother’s Day dinner with my mom. Their menu changes seasonally, which I find unique. They also boast all the ingredients being locally sourced, which is also a fun concept. Note that parking can be limited, and you may need to park along the roads alongside. Our waitress was kind and welcoming for Mother’s Day. We tried the chicken & spaetzel for my mom and the 1843 filet for myself. My steak was cooked well, I just wish it had been a bit more flavorful. My mom really liked her dish and I did as well. The chicken in particular was lovely. It did take us over 45 min to receive our food, but I attribute that to the busy holiday. The choco pie was huge and worth the amount I paid for it. The crust was prone to falling apart though so be prepared to make a mess! Speaking on my memories from 2 years ago, I’d gotten chicken piccata which had a sauce similar to the spaetzel. It was much better this time around, and didn’t have red pepper, which I strongly dislike. The concept was very similar. At the time, my partner had gotten a meat pie of some kind that he still raves about. This was winter

Everything was amazing. The staff were so lovely and truly ensured that our meal went smoothly and we felt at home. The chef had touched our table at the beginning of our meal and it was so nice getting to chat with him. I love how many local farms they support it’s incredible! Food was delicious! Love this place, can’t wait to come back!

We shared many plates with family and thought Chef's slight twists to traditional Southern dishes made for a masterfully presented meal. You can taste the farm to table freshness in every bite from local ingredients and perfect seasoning. The historic home and decor was charming and welcoming, as was service and Chef when we met him at our table. We recommend everything, but favorites were the fried squash, pork dumplings, beet salad, milk and honey rolls with homemade jam, lamb meatballs, striped bass, beef cheeks (whole beast), fried chicken with spaetzle, silk pie with vanilla ice cream and bread pudding. Drinks were strong and tasty and we enjoyed the local bourbon recommended to us and local IPAs. We had a great time and the food was rich and filling, yet bright, with perfect hints of acidity and pickling. This is a must try if you are near the north Dallas area. Wow! This is my new favorite restaurant in downtown Frisco. My wife and I went for a dinner on a Thursday evening. We got there right when they opened at 5:00PM. We were greeted right away from a friendly hostess. She sat us on the enclosed porch and we had the whole place to ourselves. Again, we were greeted by a friendly server and his training partner. Both were nice and kept our waters filled. The food. Blown away. We started with a cup of the butternut squash and mushroom soup. The butter it squash soup was the bomb! The mushroom soup was the best I've had as well. Next, we ordered the pork pot pie and their play on chicken and dumplings. Both were super flavorful and tasty. It was my birthday, so they have us a free piece of lemon pie. Also sooo good. Nothing but five stars here all around from beginning to end. We will be back!!!! Also, the menu lists the local farms where the food comes from. The food is seasonal and fresh. The menu will change frequently.
